The analysis is based on Audiweb surveys powered by Nielsen , which I managed to intercept. The data is the average audience of mobile chat apps (tablets and smartphones). The user base is between 18 and 74 years old, therefore underestimated compared to real usage.

Average usage time in the last quarter of 2020 was 1 hour and 19 minutes per person, per month. Evidently, despite the Rooms function, which could have facilitated greater use, the app is still very dependent on the use of Facebook (for example for contact activities with brands, with a view to customer care ). Telegram attracts 13 million Italians In third place, by number of users, we find Telegram which attracts around 13.2 million Italians monthly and records a leap of 23% compared to 2019.
